American Woman Gang-Raped in India

An american woman was hitchhiking her way to get to her guesthouse on Monday night. Thats when three men offered to drop her off, when she took the lift they took her to an isolated area and raped her. Gang-raping has become a very popular crime in India, ever since the incident that took place in December of the medical student who was gang-raped on the bus. The police have caught three suspects in regards to Monday nights incident.

Roaming around in India seems to become a big threat to females. There have been several cases of gang-raping in India that it seems to have become a tread. This is shameful towards the country and their people. People like these have caused nothing but fear, shame, and disrespect towards the country's citizens.

Bus Driver Fired Over Facebook Post

A student told Johnny Cook, a middle school bus driver, that the student was refused lunch because they were 40 cents short. Cook wrote about it on Facebook and the story went viral. The superintendent said that they story wasn't said correctly. Cook was asked to remove the post but he refused to, so he was asked to leave his job. Cook has no regrets over the post. He feels that he has made a change and has pride in his post. Other schools have been reported to do the same with sending children back if they aren't able to afford there lunch.

Johnny Cook has done the right thing by keeping to his word and not removing his post. Food is important for every growing child, if they don't have enough money, the school should put it on a tab.

Fake Military Checkpoint Officers Kill 14

14 people were killed by gunmen pretending to be a military checkpoint in Iraq. 10 of the people were border guards. The gunmen stopped the victims, who were driving two vehicles, at a fake security checkpoint. The case is still being investigated by Iraqi security forces.

This case is so sad, there are so many incidents that happen in Iraq everyday. It saddening to know how horrible the crime rate in that country is.

Afghan Massacre by US Soldier

On March 11, 2012, US soldier Robert Bales murdered 16 Afghan citizens. He says that they isn't a good reason for why he has committed such an act. That night he wandered two villages, he first killed a woman with a firearm, then the rest either by burning or shooting them. The victims included women and children. Several of the 17 victims were shot in the head. The family members of the victims are wanting Bales to be executed.

This is horrible, soldiers are not sent to be killing for no reason, they are there for protecting. Bales didn't have any right or reason to do such a horrendous thing.

Bangladesh Workers Drink Contaminated Water

Up to 600 Bangladesh worker have fallen sick due to contaminated water in the garment factory. They were taken to different hospitals and claimed to have stomach cramps and vomiting. A police officer has said the water may have been poisoned with pesticides. The UK said they would donate 18m euros for safety and skills training the low-skilled garment workers in Bangladesh. They will also provide a team to inspect the country's buildings.

The country of Bangladesh has suffered a lot this year, especially the worker. In April a builing collapsed killing and injuring many and now the contaminated water. This country needs help and training. It is amazing how the UK is helping out. By the UK helping out it shows how different parts of the world care about other countries.

B.C. driver who killed dad, punched teen son gets 2 years

Back in July 2010, Allan Simpson Wood, 39, from White Rock, was driving twice his speeding limit and collided with Bryan McCron. Wood collided head on with McCron, killing Bryan and injuring Bryan's 17-year-old son Connor. When Connor McCron was trying to call 911 at the scene to save his father life Allan was punching Connor so he couldn't make the call. Allan has received a two year sentence as well as 3 months for violently punching Connor. Bryan's family is satisfied with the charges. His sister, Vicki Marci, said they don't have much control but are accepting it, even though it wont bring her brother back.

I personally think that Allan Woods should receive a higher sentence. It was his fault for his reckless driving but over that he was abusing Bryan McCron's son over calling 911 and trying to save his fathers life. He shouldn't have tried to prevent his son from calling 911, I guess it was out of fear.
